NEW 'ELECTRIC AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION' SEEKS TOP MOVERS AND SHAKERS OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE WORLD

16 MARCH, IBM LONDON, SOUTHBANK
Electric Automobile Association - EAA

London - The Electric Automobile Association (EAA) will hold the first of a series of quarterly networking meetings, hosted by IBM UK, on 16 March. The audience of leaders and pioneers in the rapidly emerging electric vehicle sector will hear four keynote presentations, on issues of specific importance to the development of the market for electric vehicles. This will be followed by an open floor debate, and the opportunity to meet the speakers and other guests.

The networking events are where the most important issues enabling the UK to embrace the future of the electric vehicle, are discussed by people most able to deliver on them. There is always a strong speaker line up, and each presentation is condensed into a 15 minute top level brief, in order to stimulate greater audience feedback. Book now, there are always more people than places.

Speakers are as follows;

Andy Heiron: Head of Renault’s electric vehicle program. Renault will be the first European OEM to open up the mass market for electric vehicles. Andy will reveal just how the company will bring its electric cars to market, and explain some of challenges conventional sales channels must overcome.

Andy Hadland: Program Director, Racing Green Endurance. The Imperial College team of engineers is set to break a hat full of electric car endurance records, when it races its 400 bhp, twin-motor, electric supercar along the 26,000 km, Pan American highway.

Stewart McKee: CEO, Electric Village . ‘Are we there yet?’ Electric Village is a marketing communication consultancy, helping organisations make the transition to a zero emission future. He will present a ‘freeze frame’ of where the emerging electric vehicle is, right now.

Jon Bentley: IBM Smarter Energy Leader.
IBM is working on Electric Vehicle projects, both in the UK and around the world, delivering highly innovative solutions for clients. Jon Bentley, who also leads IBM’s Climate Change Centre of Excellence, will outline some of the projects and discuss common EV implementation challenges.

The Electric Automobile Association, formerly the Zero Emission Vehicle Foundation, has taken over the challenge of bringing together the people and organisations that can make change happen quickly, in the world of electric vehicles and zero emission technology.

The new name is important because it is more easily recognisable by consumers. An immediate objective of EAA is to grow with its members, into the consumer space and engage with the early-adopters who will be first to the electric vehicle concept.

The EAA will also continue the Zero Emission Vehicle Foundation’s important work in the business to business arena, raising the profile of issues that can help the transport and energy sectors make the transition to a zero emission future.
